Hector Trujillo, a Guatemalan judge and soccer official that was charged by the United States in December for accepting and laundering hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes, was held in solitary confinement at a detention center in Brooklyn for 1 week until he was released on a $4 million bond. Trujillo has served as the secretary general of Guatemala’s soccer federation and a judge on the Guatemala Constitutional Court. Trujillo is one of the 41 defendants in the United States’ criminal case against FIFA.
